**** With the cold weather over the last few days and more expected on the way, can parents ensure that they are sending children in to school with suitable clothing. This includes warm coats for play times and extra layers for PE. ****

Year 1 Mrs Taylor

Learning in Year One!

Congratulations to all of Year 1! You have made a confident start to the year and we are excited to start growing our brains.

Please find below a copy of our Year 1 newsletter which outlines what the children will be learning this term and the topics we will be enjoying. This half term our topic is 'Food Glorious Food' and to celebrate their learning children have invited you into school for some cooking fun on Wednesday 17th October. We hope you can join us!

In addition to the objectives outlined in the newsletter children will have two guided reading lessons per week and a daily phonic lesson. This will help to prepare them for the Year 1 Phonic Screening check in June. Further information can be found below.

Each morning and afterschool, both myself and Mrs Leigh are always available if you would like to discuss anything about your child and their learning. Alternatively, you can contact the school office if you would like to arrange an appointment.

We will update this page and our school twitter page (@firsprimarysale) often so keep a look out for pictures and updates of what your children have been up to. We are looking forward to an exciting term ahead, filled with many creative topics.

Thank you for your continued support.
