Year 2 Miss Soldiew

Welcome to Year 2!


Welcome to the 2LS webpage where we will keep you updated about all of the exciting things we are learning about in each term. The children are working extremely hard everyday and making great progress! It's wonderful to see how much the children have flourished within Year 2, embracing new challenges everyday.

This term our topic is Cavemen


Children will develop an awareness of the past, using common words and phrases that relate to the passing of time. They will develop an understanding of where people and events fit within a chronological framework and identify similarities and difference between ways of life in different periods. Children will ask and answer questions, choosing and using parts of stories and other sources to show that they know and understand key features of events.

Just a quick reminder...


  • Please ensure your child brings in their PE kit throughout the week this includes: top, shorts and PE pumps.
  • To boost your child’s reading ability, we ask that you read with your child every night.
  • Homework is given out on a Friday and is due in at the latest on Wednesday, but is welcome back in anytime before then! 
  • For additional home learning children have access to Mathletics with individual usernames and passwords which will be found in the children's reading records.
