Inspire, believe, achieve!

Year 2 Mrs Greenhalgh

Welcome to 2LG!

Our Room

We can't wait to welcome you all back to school, we’ve missed you so much! School just hasn’t been the same without you. We are ready to get stuck in with our learning. In year 2, we will learn lots of interesting and new things but most importantly, we like to have lots of fun! Your mental health and wellbeing is paramount to us therefore we will be spending a lot of time in school completing activities that enable us to feel great and make us think about our own mental state and how important this is. This will include having numerous opportunities to talk out about our feelings and identifying all emotions.

In Year 2 we embrace growth, our children learn that oopses and wobbles are necessary in order to challenge themselves and grow their brains to become the best independent learners they can be.

On this page will share some of the exciting things we have been learning about and you can see photographs of the hard work we produce. We hope you enjoy it!

Check out our twitter page @firsprimarysale and search #Year2LG

You will find plenty of online games below to help your children consolidate their learning at home.

We have plenty more exciting challenges this term and I am sure that your children will be eager to share what they have done in class with you at home.

Please help us in school by remembering the following:

  • Monday- we will provide you with 2 reading books and your homework which will be stuck in your homework book.
  • Tuesday- Your child should arrive at school wearing their PE kit. This includes: top, shorts and PE pumps.
  • Friday- you must return all reading books, reading records and homework books.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch!

Home Learning 20/7/20

This week we would like you to recap on anything that you are still unsure about. Maybe you're having a wobble with telling the time or want to practise methods of subtraction again?

We have attached a list of useful links for you to access online lessons and resources for all subjects. We hope you enjoy exploring the fun activities.

Happy learning smiley

Hello everyone! smiley

I can't quite believe how long it's been since we were all together. I'm still missing you all very much! heart

Every week I will be uploading a timetable so that you and your grown ups can continue to learn at home together.

Mrs Johnson will be using zoom with different groups to do some guided reading and every two weeks I will be organising a zoom chat so we can all see each other and talk together! All of those details will be sent to grown ups via text / email.

I love hearing from you so please feel free to send me an email to share things with me (work you've completed, things you've achieved over lockdown, anything you want!) If you want to have a chat email me and we can organise a phone call home so we can talk together! My email is lgreenhalgh@firs.trafford.sch.uk mail

I can't wait to see you again :)

Keep safe!

'All Creatures Great and Small' Home Learning Project

Our topic this half term would have been 'all creatures great and small.' We really love this topic and know that you would too so we have decided to put together a few activities that you could do at home about this topic. We look forward to seeing your topic work during our Zoom sessions in the next few weeks.

Postcard challenge

I’ve been missing you all so much so I decided to write you a postcard. I would love to hear about what you have all been getting up to. You can download the template below, write back, then ask an adult to post a photograph of your postcard on twitter. Don’t forget to tag @firsprimarysale and hashtag 2LG (#2LG) or you can email it to me lgreenhalgh@firs.trafford.sch.uk

I can’t wait to read all of your replies. smiley
