Year Three, you have settled in so well and are getting your heads around new routines - I am so proud of you.
Our topic this term is the Stone Age, which will be taught as an enquiry. We will be looking at changes in Britain from the Stone Age to the Iron Age. Most of our English this term will also be based on the Stone Age.
Our Maths will begin by consolidating place value with a big focus on practical, concrete resources to help the children to form mental images. A big push throughout Year Three will be times tables in preparation for the Year Four Times Table Test.
Now that you are grown up juniors, you are responsible for changing your reading books as you need to. Your reading record must be signed by a parent at least 3 times a week and brought into school every day. You will also be set homework on Google Classroom each week. Do not worry, we will be practising getting onto Google Classroom this week. In addition, as a school we have invested in a number of online learning platforms across the curriculum to help keep your brains engaged. All children have access to Bug club, Mathletics and Times Tables Rock Stars. If you do not have a login or experience any difficulties using these please send me an email.
Lastly, I have attached below the curriculum overview for the term and some useful resources you may wish to use at home.
If you need anything at all, please do not hesitate to contact me: firstname.lastname@example.org
Lets have an amazing year!
