Year 4 Mr Rushe

Bubble Closure - Tuesday 4th May 2021

Hello Year 4 - Please note that all class work for this week has been set on Google Classroom.

Mr Rushe, Mrs Hopewell & Miss Dunstan. smiley

Welcome to 4JR - it's officially Summer Term. laugh Lets hope things run a little more smoothly this term and that we are able to recommence normal daily school life.

Notes:

- Homework to be completed and submitted via Google Classroom (due each Wednesday).

- Mrs Newton will be with us each Thursday to support in class as well as carryout small group interventions.

- A school trip towards the end of May to Martin Mere (fingers crossed).

One final push with home learning!

Below you will find the online learning plan for this week  - all resources are on Google Classroom.

Please 'turn in' your work on Google Classroom or send it via email so that I can see your wonderful work and help if you've had a wobble.

Remember to check the live lesson timetable and join us for a question and answer session on Friday 5th where we will address any questions or worries you may have about returning to school.

I am so excited to see you all on Monday 8th March!

Take care and stay safe. laugh

Below, you will find activities for your child to do at home. We would like you to complete the home learning activity linked to our next topic, practise statutory spellings for year 3 and 4 and complete the maths times table challenges. The children know how to complete the maths times table challenges - children are allowed 2 minutes for each column and the Big Maths music can be used for this.  Please do not move on to the next challenge until full marks are achieved on the whole sheet, twice in a row!

Go-To Art Activities

Here are a range of fun Art activities that you can try out at home!

Please watch our video about how we cope when faced with a wobble! We use the 5Bs!

At the end of Year 4, children will sit a national times tables test. It is therefore extremely important that times tables are learnt and further consolidated over the course of the year. TT Rockstars is a great resource for this (link above - all children have log in details in their reading records. Children will be tested DAILY.

Spelling tests will take place every Wednesday.  You should learn your spellings as part of your homework each week.

Here are the spellings that you should know by the end of Year 4.  We will also be learning additional spellings that follow the Year 4 spelling patterns.

Here is a copy of the new Numeracy Framework for Y4 to help you understand what your child will be learning and when.
