Inspire, believe, achieve!

Year 4 Mrs Bevington

Distance (home) learning activities

Hi Year 4! I hope you are all safe and well. I am missing you all so much and it is very strange not seeing your happy smiling faces everyday. I have attached some suggested activities that I would like you to have a go at. It would be lovely if you could send me some photographs or an email of anything that you have done! The email address for Lower Key Stage 2 is firsprimary@gmail.com

I hope you're also getting to spend some valuable time with your family.  Nara has been keeping me busy, diving in and out of her sandpit all day long. We tried to make some chocolate crispy cakes but she just kept trying to lick the spoon. As much as I'm enjoying spending my days with her, I miss you all very much!

Hope to see you all very soon,

Mrs Bevington

Big Maths Music!

I know you'll be missing Big Maths so much, so use this music to give yourself enough time to complete each column!
Below, you will find activities for your child to do at home. We would like you to complete the home learning activity linked to our next topic, practise statutory spellings for year 3 and 4 and complete the maths times table challenges. The children know how to complete the maths times table challenges - children are allowed 2 minutes for each column and the Big Maths music can be used for this.  Please do not move on to the next challenge until full marks are achieved on the whole sheet, twice in a row!

Go-To Art Activities

Here are a range of fun Art activities that you can try out at home!

Welcome to the 4SB page! In Year 4, we work hard, challenge ourselves and learn from each other. Here is a copy of the Year 4 expectations - this covers what children will be learning throughout the year in Reading, Writing and Maths. If you have any questions about our curriculum, or anything else, please feel free to see Mrs Bevington after school!

Mindset Matters!

Please watch our video about how we cope when faced with a wobble! We use the 5Bs!

At the end of Year 4, children will sit a national times tables test. It is therefore extremely important that times tables are learnt and further consolidated over the course of the year. TT Rockstars is a great resource for this (link above - all children have log in details in their reading records. Children will be tested DAILY.

Spelling tests will take place every Wednesday.  You should learn your spellings as part of your homework each week.

Here are the spellings that you should know by the end of Year 4.  We will also be learning additional spellings that follow the Year 4 spelling patterns.

Here is a copy of the new Numeracy Framework for Y4 to help you understand what your child will be learning and when.
