Y4 Aspen

Welcome to Y4 Aspen

Welcome to Year 4 Aspen's class page.

We have lots of exciting things happening this half term; in class, we have many fun and engaging learning activities planned. The children will explore poems and playscripts in English, study ‘Animals including humans’ in science, create spreadsheets in computing, delve into the world of 'The Ancient Greeks' and much more. Please find attached the curriculum newsletter for this half term, where you can discover all of our exciting learning opportunities and how we plan to use high quality texts to enhance them.

Finally, we will continue to welcome any new children to our classes.

We will keep this class page and Twitter updated with key information.

Thank you for your continued support.

Weekly Reminders

Monday - Thursday - Mrs Hopewell

Friday - Mr Pasdari

We will also have our teaching assistants, Miss Bradbury and Miss Drinkwater.

P.E. will be on Thursday so we ask that children come to school wearing their PE kits.

Swimming will be on Mondays in AUTUMN. This will start for Y4Aspen on the 11th September and children will need to bring their swimming kits with them - please see letter which was sent out in July.

We ask that reading records are in school EVERYDAY. They will be written in periodically throughout the week and will be checked on FRIDAYS. We ask that children read a minimum of 3 times a week and ask that a parent signs their child's book to state this.

Homework and spellings will be given out on Fridays in BOOKS and needs to be returned on the following Wednesday. Spelling tests will also be on Wednesday mornings. Please get in contact with us if you have any problems regarding home learning.

If there are changes to the weekly routine or there are any issues that arise, please let us know by contacting school either by phone or email-

Our Reading Area

As a school, we have a huge focus on reading for pleasure. It is crucial that children read regularly, and that the texts they are choosing are appropriate and challenging for their own level. Please see below a suggested reading list for year 4 - full of fantastic books! Happy reading.

Breathing techniques

Sometimes we can all have a little wobble and need some time to regulate. Here are some of our favourite ways to practise happy breathing which help us regulate.
