Y6 Sycamore

Welcome to Y6 Sycamore!

#Y6Sycamore

Teacher: Mrs Floodgate

Teaching Assistants: Miss Burrows and Mrs Gilbert

We are so excited to start a new year in Y6 Sycamore! We are looking forward to growing our brains and working towards our SATs tests and a new start at secondary school.

We expect children to read at home on a regular basis in year 6 (3 times a week) and keep practising the rapid recall of their times tables up to 12x12. For the first half term (each week), children will receive a piece of literacy home learning, a piece of maths home learning and fifteen spellings to learn. In the second half of the term, children will receive a home learning project to last the full half term as well as weekly spellings.

If you need to speak to us regarding any issues, do not hesitate to contact us and make sure you follow @firsprimarysale and search #Y6Sycamore to keep track of all our messages, fun activities and work we produce each week!

Thanks for your continued support.

Mrs Floodgate, Mrs Gilbert and Miss Burrows

Our Reading Area

As a school, we have a huge focus on reading for pleasure. It is crucial that children in Year 6 read regularly, and that the texts they are choosing are appropriate and challenging for their own level. Please see below a suggested reading list for year 6 - full of fantastic books which should challenge and excite them! Happy reading!
